How to deal with overages on your cell phone bill

Cell phones are a great way to stay in touch with friends, family and business contacts, but if you are paying a kings ransom in extra monthly fees over your existing plan its not really worth it to have a cell phone that has a company that loves to over charge you on a consistent basis.

I was recently in that exact same boat with my cell phone company constantly over charging me for extra cell time, overages for too many local and long distance text messages, over charges even for checking my voice mail from my cell phone. I finally had enough when I looked at my cell phone bills over a three month period and found that I was paying an average of eight hundred dollars for the past three months.

Once I saw what I was paying, I was furious and called the cell phone company to find out why my bill went from $90 per mont to almost $800 for three months. Their answer to my skyrocketed cell phone bill was overages from my regular cell phone plan including More incoming and outgoing calls than the plan had allowed.

I was so shocked with what my cell phone company charged me I told them I wanted out of my three year contract and was going to find a new cellphone company because I felt I was ripped off. Once I said I was leaving the cellphone company they changed their tune and started looking seriously at what I was charged and started giving me credits on my statement. Funny how when I mentioned how I wanted out of my contract, they made all kinds of concessions to keep me from leaving while they reduced my bill back to my regular monthly bill again, saving me hundreds of dollars in the process.
